The husks may be mixed with infusion of other herbs such as marigold to form a paste which may be applied over boils to soothe and draw them.
Directions for Use
Sprinkle a dessertspoon of the husks over cereal, fruit and yoghurt or porridge daily.
Precautions
It is most important that plenty of water is drunk when taking psyllium husks.
Notes on the Herb
Psyllium seeds are a useful bulking and stool softening agent where constipation and haemorrhoids (piles) are present, having a gentler action than the seeds. They are also used for IBS where there may be alternating constipation and diarrhoea, helping to normalise bowel patterns.
